Term 3 Carnival News by Mr Wulff

This term has been an absolute hype of activity with plenty of carnivals for all of our students at Alkimos Primary School.

Our senior students did an amazing job at the Interschool Cross Country Carnival, with Alkimos finishing second overall behind Alkimos Beach by 20 points. We had some great achievements, including:

  • Tanner P (Winner of Yr 4 boys)
  • Noah H (Runner-up of Yr 4 boys)
  • Maddie J (Winner of Yr 4 girls)
  • Zara D (Fourth place of Yr 4 girls)
  • Jackson H (Third place of Yr 6 boys)
  • Sarah A-A (Fourth place of Yr 6 girls)

Well done to all of our Cross Country team, you did our school incredibly proud.

Over the last two weeks, we had our annual Faction Athletics Carnival. It was a hive of excitement around the school with some fantastic performances on the track, and great sportsmanship off the track. Congratulations go to HERA for winning the Spirit of Alkimos Trophy and to APOLLO for winning the overall shield. Below are the students who were athletic champions for their year groups:

Well done to all of our students who participated valiantly on the day. Some of our Years 4 - 6 students will represent Alkimos Primary School at the Interschool Athletics Carnival to be held at Halesworth Park on Friday 31st October. The team will be announced to the students before the end of the term.

These events take a lot of organising, and I would like to say a massive thank you to each staff member for Alkimos Primary School because without you, the students would not have had the terrific time they had. Furthermore, thank you to the parents and community members who came to support their children.  Next year, it would be great to see everyone stay to the end of the carnival to encourage sportsmanship and participation.
