Good Day Everyone

It is that time of the year again!

Operation Christmas Child

Alkimos Primary School participates in the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child each year, which is such a wonderful and happy event.

Operation Christmas Child is a hands-on way for schools/families to bless children in need across the world by filling shoeboxes with toys, hygiene items, school supplies, and fun gifts. Boxes are collected and distributed to children living in vulnerable situations. It is heart-warming to see the pure joy on the faces of the children receiving a box.

Each class will receive a box next term, and everyone is welcome to bring an item to put in the box. This always creates such excitement in the class as everyone is involved in filling the box. We will send out a list of gift ideas.

Items will be accepted from week 1 in term 4, ready for packing by Thursday 23 October.

It is Self-Care September and a good time of the year to take a step back and reflect on how we are going with looking after ourselves. Are you ok?

According to the Action for Happiness website there are 10 Keys to Happier Living. Everyone's path to happiness is different, but there are 10 Keys to Happier Living that consistently tend to make life happier and more fulfilling.

Together they spell G-R-E-A-T  D-R-E-A-M.

Giving - Do kind things for others                                                              Direction – Have goals to look forward to

Relating - Connect with people                                                                  Resilience – Find ways to bounce back

Exercising – Take care of your body                                                          Emotions – Look for what’s good

Awareness – Live life mindfully                                                                 Acceptance – Be comfortable with who you are

Trying out – Keep learning new things                                                     Meaning – Be part of something bigger
