Mrs Papadopoff's Ponderings

The SLP classrooms are busy with exciting opportunities for our students to engage in their learning. This newsletter we have included photos from each room and an insight into what they are up to.

In ECE7, our students have been learning about community helps this term. They have creatively put their learning into role play scenarios using their imagination. Students had another baking lesson focusing on strengthening their fine motor, measurement, listening to and following instructions, sequencing and observation skills.

In CR4, we have been very busy with our learning and enjoying lots of opportunities to join in with mainstream activities. Recently, we worked together with the mainstream classes as we prepared for our Faction Carnival, which was a wonderful way to practise teamwork and school spirit. We also enjoyed a Constable Care session where we learned the importance of making the right call in an emergency. We also had the exciting experience of welcoming a special visitor, Charlie the puppy who the students enjoyed very much!
In CR11, we have been practising our procedure writing by making our own pizza before our writing. We also have daily rotations which can be multi modal to ensure knowledge is embedded. Some work activities will see us using iPads, another could be a hands on activity using concrete materials and we also include collaborative activities where we can focus on our personal and social goals.
Hope to see you around our school very soon.

Kind regards,

Melinda Papadopoff
Program Coordinator (SLP-ASD)
